# Five things that break an AI product ad

> Consistency is a checklist, not luck. Check these five things on every generated shot before it goes into the edit.

Consistency is a checklist, not luck. Check these five things on every generated shot before it goes into the edit.

> [card] What you get
>
> Every shot checked before it reaches the edit.

> [card] Time to read
>
> About 3 minutes. Each step works with any toolset.

## What you need

* Your real product photo as a locked reference
* The generated shots you plan to use
* A few minutes per shot to zoom in and compare

## Steps

**1. Label fidelity**

Text and logos on the pack should read exactly as they do on the real product. Zoom in on every shot.

**2. Proportions**

The product should be the same shape and size relative to hands and props across every shot.

**3. Colour accuracy**

Compare the pack colour against one locked reference image, not against the previous shot.

**4. Material**

Glass should stay glass and matte should stay matte. Watch for surfaces that turn glossy or plastic.

**5. Lighting continuity**

Light direction and warmth should match from shot to shot so the cut feels like one film.

## Try it

Use this checklist on each generated shot. Check all five before the shot goes into the edit.

> [!TIP]
>
> **Keep the product out of the generated layer.** For hero shots, composite the real product photo onto the generated scene instead of asking the model to redraw it.

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Avoid this: fixing it in the edit.** A warped label rarely survives colour and sharpening fixes. Regenerate the shot instead.

### Run this workflow in the open source studio

These skills cover this guide: `@tryvinci/image-generate`, `@tryvinci/first-last-frame`, `@tryvinci/image-upscale`.

> [tab] Studio
>
> **1. Install and start in demo mode**
>
> ```bash theme={"system"}
> git clone https://github.com/tryvinci/vinci && cd vinci
> python3 -m venv .venv && . .venv/bin/activate && make install
> ./scripts/vinci init --demo
> ./scripts/vinci studio
> ```
>
> Demo mode uses practice providers, so it costs nothing and needs no key.
>
> **2. Open a skill**
>
> Open the studio at `http://127.0.0.1:4310/studio` and pick `image-generate`.
>
> **3. Connect your own keys when ready**
>
> Add provider keys under **Connect**. Live spend stays off until you set `VINCI_ALLOW_LIVE_SPEND=1`, and every job shows its price first.

> [tab] HTTP
>
> With the studio running, every skill is also available over HTTP:
>
> ```bash theme={"system"}
> curl -sS -X POST http://127.0.0.1:4310/runs \
> -H 'content-type: application/json' \
> -d '{"skill":"@tryvinci/image-generate","inputs":{}}'
> ```
>
> The studio lists each skill's inputs.
